Hello. I’m Loralie—the one on the right—and art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Like many creative people, I was encouraged to pursue a corporate career to make a living. So I set down my paintbrush, earned a degree, and went to work. I built a fantastic career supporting global sales executives—work I truly enjoyed, with plenty of opportunities to use my creativity and graphic design skills along the way.

Now it’s time to pick up my paintbrush again and embrace life as a full-time artist.

Southern Exposure Bay House will become both my home and the heart of my creative work. I’m transforming what was my short term vacation rental into a bayside studio, classroom, and art center where I can host open studio time and workshops.

To make the journey even more meaningful, my parents, Dick and Kathy—both in their 80s—are coming to live with me at the bay house. The photo above was taken at their 50th wedding anniversary celebration in 2016, and in 2026 they celebrated 60 years together.

My sister, Hollie Tew—pictured on the left—lives next door and will be a big part of the adventure. The rest of the family will be pitching in too: the kids, the grandson, five dogs, and a duck—yes, Hollie has a pet duck!

I’d love for you to join my Dream Team. It’s for people who want to follow the studio as it takes shape and share their thoughts as I decide what to create next. Near the end of each month, I’ll tell you what I’m considering and ask what you think. Your response might confirm an idea, change my mind, or show me something I hadn’t considered.

You’ll also be the first to see new artwork, know when something new is available in the art store, and hear about early access or discounts. I’ll share the occasional last-minute offer for a stay in the Airstream too. More than anything, I hope you’ll follow along, speak up when you have an idea, and help me see possibilities I might have missed on my own.

Welcome to the team!
